ULTRASHAPE vs. COOLSCULPTING

So many patients are looking for a non-invasive, non-surgical alternative to liposuction for long term fat destruction. With several options available, it is important to understand the differences between them.

UltraShape uses pulsed focused ultrasound  targeted to treat the fat cells only, and destroys fat cells, without causing damage to any other surrounding structures.* This technology was FDA approved in 2014 for the reduction of abdominal circumference via fat cell destruction.**  What UltraShape won’t do is harm surrounding tissue, nerves, or muscle, which can happen with Coolsculpting. With Coolsculpting, which does not specifically target fat cells, there is freezing and damage to not only fat cells, but also blood vessels and nerves. The result is often bruising and numbness which can last for many weeks after treatment.

UltraShape treatments are painless, and many people even fall asleep during the treatment. There are no post treatment lumps, bumps, bruising, soreness or numbness, and no visible signs of treatment, so you can return to normal activities immediately.  In fact, many patients do the procedure on their lunch break. There is no downtime – not even social downtime – after an UltraShape treatment.

Unlike Coolsculpting, UltraShape leaves no bruising since there is no freezing or suction. Coolsculpting can create a bruise (edema) due to the ‘cold’ nature of the treatment. ‘Cold’ treatments can have the negative side effect of prolonged numbness in the treated area. With Coolsculpting you may spend weeks unable to feel any sensation in the focused area.  UltraShape is a comfortable, fast and painless treatment with no downtime.

Using ultrasound energy, UltraShape is able to target the stubborn  fat cells below the skin’s surface, destroying them instantly, so that you can see visible results in as little as two weeks.* Because the ultrasound energy is pulsed and focused, UltraShape is able to target the fat cells mechanically, without freezing them – while leaving the surrounding skin, nerves, and blood vessels unharmed.

Unlike Coolsculpting, UltraShape is not subjected to a limited treatable area size. CoolSculpting cartridges come in pre-determined sizes which may not conform to the size of the area you want to reduce the fat from. With Coolsculpting you may need to pay for multiple treatment plates to be applied to a treatment area, as many as 4 for a complete abdomen treatment. Not only does this take many hours, but is quite expensive. With UltraShape, each treatment is completely customized to your body shape.

UltraShape body contouring treatment best results are seen after a series of 3 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart (a total of only 28 days).* Coolsculpting  requires 2 treatments for each area, which are spaced 30 to 60 days apart. Initial UltraShape results are visible as soon as two weeks after your first treatment, as opposed to waiting up to 3 months for CoolSculpting to show effective results.*

With UltraShape the body breaks down (or processes) the destroyed fat cells, just like it breaks down other fats. After being processed by the liver, the waste is eliminated naturally.

UltraShape has no bruising since there is no thermal injury or suction. CoolSculpting can create a bruise (edema) due to the ‘cold’ nature of the treatment.  ‘Cold’ treatments can have the negative side effect of prolonged numbness in the treated area. You may spend weeks unable to feel any sensation in the focused area. Most importantly, at the UltraShape Center, we provide comfortable, faster, painless treatments with no downtime.* After a series UltraShape sessions over a 28 day period, you will be thrilled with your newly sculpted physique, as opposed to waiting up to 3 months for CoolSculpting to show effective results.*

UltraShape. Painless, no freeze, no downtime!*

*Results may vary.
